Clinical Modalities

Traditional Chinese Medicine Services

We provide the 6 authentic pillars of Traditional Chinese Medicine, individually prescribed according to syndromic pattern differentiation (辨证论治) to relieve pain and restore physical harmony.

Primary Modality

1. Acupuncture & Electro-Therapy (针灸疗法)

ACC ACCREDITED COVERAGE

Acupuncture is an ancient, evidence-backed therapeutic method in Traditional Chinese Medicine with thousands of years of clinical practice. By placing ultra-fine sterile micro-needles along specific meridian pathways (经络), acupuncture stimulates neural transmitters, releases deep muscular trigger points, clears nerve impingements, and triggers the body's natural endorphin pain inhibitors.

Clinical Indications
  • Lower back disc herniation, sciatica, and nerve pain
  • Postural neck tension, cervical stiffness, and migraines
  • Frozen shoulder, tennis elbow, and carpal tunnel syndrome
Treatment Features
  • Single-use, surgical-grade sterile disposable needles
  • Electro-acupuncture neuromodulation available for nerve regeneration
  • Subsidized under ACC with zero GP referral required
Thermal Yang Vitality

2. Moxibustion (艾灸)

Moxibustion involves burning processed medicinal mugwort leaves (Artemisia argyi / 艾叶) either directly or indirectly over specific meridian points. The deep-penetrating infrared thermal energy expels cold dampness from deep joint capsules, stimulates circulation, warms the Yang meridians, and strengthens the immune defense.

Key Indications

Chronic osteoarthritis aggravated by cold or wet Auckland weather, persistent joint stiffness, chronic fatigue, abdominal coldness, and poor digestive vitality.

Fascial Decompression & Detox

3. Cupping Therapy (拔罐)

A traditional modality where glass cups are placed onto the skin using thermal vacuum suction. The resulting negative pressure draws tight connective fascia upwards, breaks up adhesions, pulls stagnant metabolic waste to the capillary surface, and invigorates cellular oxygenation.

Key Indications

Severe muscular knots, back tension, athletic recovery, trapezius stiffness, and early wind-cold respiratory stagnation.

Manual Orthopedic Bodywork

4. Acupressure / Tuina (推拿按摩)

Tuina is traditional Chinese therapeutic manual manipulation. Guided by meridian and trigger point theory, practitioners utilize rolling, pressing, kneading, and traction techniques to release contracted muscular bands, realign musculoskeletal imbalances, and improve joint mobility without needles.

Key Indications

Desk-worker posture strain, acute torticollis (wry neck), lumbar muscle sprain, tension headaches, and needle-sensitive patients.

Internal Syndromic Regulation

5. Herbal Remedy (天然中药)

Herbal medicine has been applied clinically for over 3,000 years. Following pulse and tongue assessment, individual formulas containing natural botanical roots, barks, flowers, and minerals are precisely combined to balance internal organ disharmony and nourish depleted vitality.

Key Indications

Women's hormonal health, menstrual irregularities, sleep disorders, chronic fatigue, digestive distress (bloating, IBS), and immune replenishment.

Micro-Vascular Scraping Detox

6. Gua Sha Therapy (刮痧)

Gua Sha utilizes a smooth-edged instrument (traditionally polished water buffalo horn or medical jade) applied unidirectionally across lubricated skin. The gentle scraping releases subcutaneous blood stasis, produces therapeutic petechiae ('sha'), and activates immediate micro-vascular perfusion.

Key Indications

Upper thoracic and cervical stiffness, feverish colds, heat exhaustion, fibromyalgia tension, and localized inflammatory congestion.
